How do you get players to want to play defense? I mean not just be willing to play - but have that special passion for playing defense. How do you convince a kid to run around with reckless abandon and hurl his body into an oncoming freight train, then get up and do it 50 more times?
Are all the greats in the NFL born that way? Or did someone teach Ray Lewis or John Lynch at some point? I know this is probably opinion - but I'm asking for it.

Definitely helps, spread teams tend to be a little softer (tend to, I said!)
