Today was National Signing Day. Don't really care who went where - my question is more, what do you think about the whole process? A few points:
1) I just listened to an interview wtih Mike London (University of Richmond) where he said he thought the coaches should be able to have more contact with players in order to determine their character.
2) Players get jerked around an awful lot. The top names might be deciding from a dozen schools. But there are thousands of other players who listened to promises from coaches, and when the day comes they're getting the short end.
3) Are schools pressured to take those "Big names" sometimes, over players that aren't as well known but may look better, in order to improve their "class ranking" and appease the alumni?
Thoughts?

I think that many good, hard-working players get, for a lack of better words, the shaft, because they dont meet the measurements that a college is looking for or because they are not on an ESPN150 list. Because of this everyone gets hurts. The big schools bring in a 6'7" 347 kid who is sloppy and a bust, but a kid who is 6'4" 300 who has motor and is solid as a ball players slips through the cracks. I would love to see a stat of how many of the ESPN 150 go on to have a product collegiate career. And in reality, how many of the NFL players currently today were never on the ESPN150.
