We are looking to put a read onto all of our run plays. Primarily our two zone runs (inside and outside obviously).
The inside zone read we are going to read the playside DE just like many teams would do when running the gun veer or triple (which is what we are working towards). Many if the QB gets a pull read from the DE, then he tucks and gets through D-gap, trying to circle the defense.
On the outside zone I am at a crossroads though. Our back will align away from the call-side, so he will have to cross the QB to get the ball. What we are trying to decide on is whether we want to read the BSDE or whether we want to read the Will backer.
On the one hand if we read BSDE, then we keep the consistency for the QB's read (IZ, Speed). It also keeps consistency with the BST's blocking rules.
Now if we read the backer, I think we are going to create better running lanes for the QB if he gets the keep pull. I know this is what James Madison does. But if anyone has any thoughts or opinions please share.

Something that we have been playing around with is reading the playside EMOL. If block it like a c-gap power play, with the TE comboing down on the PSLB.
-If EMOL sits or slides down with the TE, we give the ball.
-If EMOL attacks the RB or gets outside to stop stretch, QB keeps it and follows the BSG though the C-gap.
It gives the defense something different to look at, and no new learning for anyone, except the QB. He will shuffle step playside as he reads the EMOL
